I attended a great webinar today! It was provided by Jason Craholm from WebMarketing123. You can listen to it at Top Ten Tips in SEO. Since I am getting ready to make changes to my own website, I have attended several Webinars this past month on similar topics. Frankly, until today, I have not heard much I couldn’t have gotten from Wikipedia. So as I started listening, I had fairly low expectations. It was great to be surprised.
Today’s webinar was full of fresh information that was explained with easy to understand analogies. Jason discussed the differences between how Google rankings used to work, and how they work today. Even more useful was the advice on where to spend your efforts to create the most value. I especially appreciated the specific examples differentiating good choices for your metadata and poor choices for your metadata. Advice such as naming your pictures, putting real descriptors containing your key words in the metadata, and looking at which key words have been most successful for your competitors were useful.
I find webinars to be a great way to keep up with a lot of different technology topics. I can tune in and quickly determine if they are worth my time to stay online or not. I do understand the difficulty in deciding if your audience is composed of amateurs or not. But when I attend a webinar, I hope to finish it having learned something new, laughed, or at least smiled a few times, be awake at the end, and most importantly, feel it was time well spent.
